Video Tutorial: Creating a sign texture

CADE recommends that you view this tutorial in the full screen setting. Press the full screen button on the bottom right corner of the video to see a full sized version.

Due to many requests, I have created a simple video tutorial to help you upload your own signs into Second Life for use with the 5 Foot Sign and Easel Sign objects. This tutorial requires Second Life, Paint, and $10L dollars (Second Life currency).

1.) Open Paint (Start>All Programs>Accessories>Paint)
2.) Select Image and then Attributes and set your size to 256x256 pixels
3.) Enter your text within the canvas.
4.) Select your text and move it into the center of the canvas.
5.) Save your image as a .jpg file (File>Save)
6.) Open Second Life and drag an Easel Sign from your Inventory
7.) Import your image (File>Import Image)
8.) Check your image in the preview and select Pay $10L to upload your texture
9.) A new box will appear, displaying your texture as an SL asset
10.) Left click on the image and drag it onto the sign portion of the Easel Sign

Inventory Update Complete 2/2/2009

You may notice that many of the objects given in the Inventory Station are now modify enabled. This means that you have the ability to change textures (such as the image on a sign), size, and color of most inventory. This permission is withheld on some advanced objects, but you can special request one of these objects from Davis Woolley. All inventory now can be moved around by all team members.
